Lili Rocha Rocks!

SKATIC has a new artist that we would like to throw a little spotlight on, Brazilian native Lili Rocha. Lili recently released her Summer remix track of “Gold In Your Soul,” a track off of her debut English album, Lili Rocha Rocks!

What’s good, people? It’s been a little while since we’ve had a new blog post up, but have no fear! We’re bringing something extra special this week. “What?!” you ask, and I reply, I’m ‘Bringing Unmatched Noise Knowledge and Sound’” and you say, “word!”

Yes, ladies and gentlemen, today you will be learning about B.U.N.K.S muzak! B.U.N.K.S. consists of two musically savvy men, Smo and Gro, who hail from Tennessee. Fortunately, I’ve been blessed with personally knowing and working with these two through our local music scene. They’re on SKATIC and you should check them out, right after you read this:

Changes in technology, especially with the power of the internet,have created a new type of music industry. There are fewer superstars but there is much more music to choose from with new genres and more types of music due to technology. Any real music fan knows that there are tons of high quality musicians, bands, producers making great music for a small underground following. Most artists do not do it for the fame or the money, but you would be hard pressed to find a decent artist who does not dream of having their music heard and appreciated.

Panda Bear is the stage name of the front man of the band Animal Collectiv.  His real name is Noah Lennox, and he makes solo albums from his home in Portugal. 

I always knew of Animal Collective and had a bit of fun listening to their "strange" music, but it was not until 4 years ago when I heard the Panda Bear solo album entitled 'Person Pitch' that I started to fall in love with this type of melodramatic music.

Brandon Brown is the man behind The Flying Opera Orchestra. He has been bringing his jazz influenced musical talents to the pages of SKATIC since November 2008. He was the second musician to sign up and share his music with SKATIC.

Brandon is a multi-talented musician whose music consists of many classical instrumental sounds put together into a fun, witty and entertaining experience that feels like a musical play house from old-world Europe.

Devastating news passed through the streams of Facebook and Google late last night. Several sources have confirmed that the Long Beach native, Nathaniel Dwayne Hale aka Nate Dogg, passed away on March 15, 2011 due to a health issues.  

Dominique Young Unique is an 18 year-old rapper out of Tampa Florida. Making music is nothing new to this young artist; her music is cutting, alarming, and fun. The fast stabs and elbow-popping (or as Dominique would say “Pussy-Popping”) beats will surely make you wish you were in Tampa on the dance floor at one of her notoriously energized shows.
