I was born In fall river Massachusetts. My name colorz is a alias for my
birth name Guy Tavares. i have been doing music since the age of 12. I
had
a different out look on music, as i would listen to it i would also
listin
to rhyme schemes and how sentences where put together.Listening to his
inspirations from, Bone thugs N Harmony,The Fugees D.M.X, Notorious
B.I.G,
Jay-Z, Lil Wayne, Eminem.i took there ideas and ways of putting together music to make it my own.i started putting together full songs and i was
ready for them to get heard and recorded, So i had a family friend that
also writing and recorded music and was in the recording studio on a
regular basis. so i went to him for some help.he said yes we can take
some of your material and see how it sounds in the studio. i went to the
studio
for the 1st time and recorded a song called my lyrics. it was a success,
the song was loved and played by many people and i started to create a
buzz
around the high school scene. other people always approaching me and
asking me to rap for them or where they could purchase that first son. the
person
i was working with in the studio seen that i was creating a buzz , so he
then took me to my first personal producer at dafifth entertainment.as
tho i was first starting out with music we tried to make a variety of
different
sounds, they started explaining to me that if i was going to do anything
in
this business then i would have to go to a commercial route.they started
working on my first album which took over 2 years to complete because we
tested and tried every sound possible. So my 1st album was created it
was
titled '' They Call Me Colorz '' the album featured other local artist
that
i met along the way doing music nahlidge Collaborated with me on the
album
as well as Young Bangerz. After the first album was created i liked the
chemistry that i got working with the artist nahlidge, so we talked and
came to a decision to work together, and hopped directly in the studio
and
released our 1st mixtape together which we sold copies out of back paks
but
sold well over hundreds of copies of the mixtape.i started to create an
even wider buzz, as a song writer singer and m.c, i hooked up with a promoter named Brian, he seen that i had a lot of potential and i work
hard
to get were i want to get in the industry, so he gave me a chance and
asked
me if i wanted to join his group called troy city entertainment, where
Brian gave me some studio time and started getting my music played all
over
the world from over seas to our home city of Boston ma. where jammin
94.5
dj has taken some records of me and started pushing them to other djs
and
promoters in the music world. Brian knew a local dj that owns his own
internet radio station 36oh radio where Brian took me for a meeting to
go
meet up with dj Sammy Clawz, we all had a meeting on where we wanted to
go
with music and Sammy asked me to be the on air personality of his radio
station, i gladly accepted. so taking on a new aspect in music from
writing> music to singing and rapping now, hosting live broadcasts of a radio
station online. we also would take the radio staion on the road. to
clubs
from fall river to providence to Boston ma. he would dj the club and i
would host the party, people like us as a team so much that we started
getting regular business and started getting stars in the music industry
to
come down to our station for interviews, i have had the opportunity to interview great artists such as , sullee, from the v.h.1. white rapper
show, Mighty Mystic, a huge reggae artist who has shared the monster jam
stage with atrist like Sean Paul and Mary J Blige. 36oh radio also has
giving me the opportunity to learn the trade of networking which i have
learned that networking is as important in music then making music,
where the networking has let me talk to such artist on the phone like . T
pain,
U.S.D.A Young Jeezy and 2 pistols .so taking all i have learned from the
radio station and talking with Brian i have released my 2nd album called
color me bad, where i gave the album a hip hop r&b and a top 40 feel to
the
album so as time moves on and music evolves i try to make my rhymes and
schemes evolve also. i have yet to accomplish and i will not give up in
this business untill i am successful.
