  • Can you even imagine it? It is widely said that we take so much for granted, life being a major one, but a VERY close 2nd has got to be music & song.

It has the power to teach, as well as learn. The ability to translate, as well as interpretate. It embraces us with love & passion, but also allows us to release those inner tensions. It caters for our every emotion and feelings. It's a language we all understand. It's almost like the air we breathe, as what we inhale through music, we exhale through song. It's in our homes, our work places, our minds, our heart and souls. We are never alone, for we always have a song to sing or listen to. It spreads from nation to nation, across the continents, adapting, changing, embracing and evolving along the way.

It feeds us in such a way, we never go hungry.

The world without music and song?????

    Bless

Hard to imagine a world with no music.

If people can hear they are going to make music!

Hard to imagine indeed Ewlandon. It'd be like a never ending nightmare. And it's true what you added, if people can hear, they are going to make music.

    Thanks for your input.

Does make you wonder where it came from in the first place though, doesn't it? The more we study animals, the more it becomes apparent that some species have rudimenary forms of communication (bees 'dance,' whales 'sing,' crows apparently relay messages when they caw) but is there any other species on the planet that produces differently-pitched sounds in varying orders for purely aesthetic purposes?

You're right, it's very hard to imagine life without it...but can you imagine life before it?

Monkeys, but they are so similar to us.  But are there any species that make "music" for enjoyment.  Do dolphins or monkeys more than just communicate with their noises?
