Fran is a 34 year old singer/songwriter originally from Shankill Co Dublin, currently residing in Wexford.
Fran has been playing music since he was 13 years old however it is only in the last 18 months that he has
been able to take it seriously since losing his job.
He recently recorded his album ‘Trapped Soul’ which has 21 songs all recorded live, back to back, within 3 hours. The album has very minimum production because Fran wanted to keep the album raw and honest.
He plays guitar, banjo, dulcimer and percussion.
Fran is also one half of the Tall Tales Troubadours, a storytelling/music partnership with local storyteller Deirdre Wadding. They recently produced and performed a Gothic Evening which consisted of dark poetry, stories and tailored songs to suit the theme.
Fran regularly performs at the local open mic night, The Red Chair (Bean n Berry Cafe, Wexford), and has contributed a song towards the Red Chair album which is due to be released shortly. He also performs on occassion at the local cabaret, The Caca Milis, held monthly in the Wexford Art Centre.
His musical influences range from Davy Graham, Bert Jansch to Tom Waits and Nick Cave and everything else in between.
