Early days
1980 recorded first album with band Roughmix
1982-83 Brass player with Terry Reaney’s Music Plus / Ray McVay orchestra.
1983-86 A session player for :
1. a creative team writing commercials for local radio and,
2. many bands touring the North of England.
Writer/arranger for musical shows, studio, big band, brass band and cruise ship.
Working as Sound engineer at Astra studios with owner, good friend and mentor Kelvin Futers, I developed my knowledge of recording and was fortunate to be one of the first people in the UK to learn and record with midi software
1986 first song published Worlds Apart.
1987 Mick Booth at Campbell Connolly published So much time and convinced American giant Shapiro Bernstein to sign me, their focus including singer/songwriters Jennifer Warnes & Grace Slick
Simon May best known for composing some of British television's best known theme tunes, including EastEnders and Howards' Way and for composing the music for the 1988 film The Dawning recommended I sign to his management company and explore instrumental music as well as songs.
…and so it began…
To this day I have songs published both in the UK and overseas, and numerous catalogues of instrumental material in studio libraries from Hollywood to London.
So far this year my work has also been selected to showcase at 'Midem' at the Palais Des Festivals, Cannes, France, I am featured on the album 'profile uk 09' and have just signed one song with 272 Records
