The Annastasia Band is committed to bringing soulful and positive music to the world and hopes that through their music people are touched, inspired and encouraged! It possesses a fusion of many musical experiences and styles from Blues to Calypso, Rock to Jazz and Classical to Soul... Each member brings their own unique sound and style to create what is now 'The Annastasia Band'!
Here is just a small overview on its members:
Annastasia Baker [Lead Vocalist] - One of the most unique and dynamic voices today! Her talent has taken her to some very peculiar places like the X-Factor 2008 competing against winner Alexandra Burke at Cheryl Cole's house; and acting on the set High School Musical as Taylor! A graduate of Vocal Tech, she has the drive and confidence to put her voice on display with boldness and precision. Only singing for 5 years after discovering her abilities during High School. Dancing is also one of her passions and she loves performing on stage. She has been performing in theaters across london at festivals and pubs and aims to be a world wide performer!
Cory Waldron [Keys, MD] - Student at London Centre of Contemporary Music[LCCM], born West Indian, who has been involved in Gospel i.e choirs, orchestras and bands, Jazz, Afro Cuban and Caribbean Folk Music. He has been playing piano/keys for a number of years. He also holds a Certificate in Jazz Performance from LCCM. He is also a song writer, arranger and producer and has been thrusted into the MD role from time to time.
Rudolf Smetana [Guitarist] - Born 1982 in Czech Republic, he started to play the guitar from the age of nine, where he played with several bands of different styles,he also composed some original songs for funk bands and did some DJing as well! And is presently studying Music Performance and Production and the London Centre of Contemporary Music.
Emmanuel Oladokun [Bassist] - Also a student of London Centre of Contemporary Music, his passion for bass playing and its role in the contemporary band is very impressive. Having a Nigerian heritage his feel for rhythm and rhythmic modulations seem natural. He looks to the greats like Jaco Pastorius as mentors!
Ondrej Vomacka [Drummer] - Born 31.10.1980 in Prague (Czech republic) he started to play percussions (djembe) when he was 14, then bought his first drum set at age 16. He then set up his kit in his new practice room, which was secretly built in basement of the house by him and his schoolmates. He began to play hard rock music with his friends. After finding himself in dream world of music and rhythms. He became dedicated to it and in 2001 entered the Jaroslav Jezek conservatory of jazz and pop music. After 6 years he successfully finished with diploma. Some of his musical passions are soul, funk, R&B, jazz, Latin, world music.
