White Elephant was formed in late 2004 when "The Beast" Zverev and "Old Crow" Beeby met at a jam night in the Imperial College Union and found a mutual interest in old-fashioned blues and rock n' roll. Drummer "The Thrill" Hill was recruited a few weeks later and this trio has formed the core of the band ever since.
Following their first few gigs, comprising long sets of Hendrix, CCR and blues covers, The Elephant soon moved on to writing and performing its own material. After carting its unsual assembly of psychedelic, bluesy songs around London for several years, the band has finally recorded its debut album, currently scheduled for release in May 2011.
